Redhills Demesne is a stunning private farm estate set in 400 rolling acres of beautiful Cavan countryside.
The demesne dates back to the end of the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1st when a grant of land was given to Francis Whyte.
The picturesque landscape includes undulating pasture and meadows, the tranquil Dunrora lake, magnificent mature woodland with many ancient trees and several avenues and a magical ring fort on a hill top. A multitude of beautiful vistas look out over the surrounding countryside.
Architectural elements include the large country house, gatehouses, demense walls, a variety of farm buildings both old and modern, a farm cottage with old fashioned farm yard and an abandoneed ivy clad cottage.
Located near the county town of Cavan, Redhills is easily reached from Dublin or Belfast in about one and a half hours.
The estate offers total privacy to enjoy the tranquility of nature with no interruptions. There are a large number of walks that take you all over the estate.
The demense is farmed with sheep and a small herd of Hereford cattle.

Beautiful Farmland
The rolling pasture is a feature of the Drumlin topography created by the last ice age. The interlocking rounded hillsides give multiple beautiful vistas, all set around the stunnin Dunrora Lake.
Mature woodland
Around half the Estate is given over to woodland, both ancient and modern. A wealth of mature native trees create avenues and secret spaces. In spring the woodland floor is carpeted in bluebells, wood anemonies or wild garlic.

The Estate has anumber of different style properties. The country house is built in the Georgian style with large generous room and high ceilings with the benefit of modern electrics.
